copyright: © Massimo Berruti à vu le jour en 1979 à Rome où il habite depuis. En 2003, après quelques cours de photographie, il abandonne la biologie pour approfondir la photo. Massimo a commencé à travailler comme photographe en Italie et en Europe de l’Est où il a documenté l’immigration et la crise industrielle. Sa carrière professionnelle a débuté avec de grands magazines italiens et européens comme l’Espresso, Internazionale, D la Repubblica delle Donne, Le Monde 2 et The Independent. Depuis 2007, il travaille en Asie Centrale plus particulièrement sur la société en mutation au Pakistan et en Afghanistan. Massimo Berruti a reçu le second prix de la catégorie Reportage sur les problèmes contemporains lors du World Press Photo 2007, il a reçu la mention spéciale du Jury au Festival International du Scoop et du Journalisme en 2008. La même année, Massimo a été selectionné pour le 15ème Joop Swart Master Class et s’est retrouvé second lors de l »International Photography Award » dans la catégorie « General News ».
