    Bernardo Strozzi, dit, il Capucini Genovese ou, il Prete Genovese, (Gênes, 1581 - 2 août 1644, Venise) est un peintre baroque italien de l'école génoise. il est connu pour avoir peint des sujets mythologiques, des compositions religieuses, des sujets allégoriques, des scènes de genre, de nus, des portraits, des natures mortes. Il a été aussi Dessinateur1. Il a été un élève de Pietro Sorri.
    Il est souvent catégorisé comme un peintre maniériste, influencé par Luca Cambiaso, Rubens et même par Rembrandt, notamment dans La cuisinière et dans Du joueur de fifre. On décèle aussi parfois chez lui une influence modérée au caravagisme. À travers sa période vénitienne, il aurait influencé Giambattista Tiepolo. Son arrivée à Venise, lui aurait apportait dans ses peinture d'avantages de lumière, de soleil, de couleurs, accélère l'influence rubénienne dans son œuvre.
